You know when you meet someone and everything just makes sense? That’s how Jake felt when he met Natalie for their first date, both of them in sweatpants. After two more dates, Jake asked Natalie to be his girlfriend, not wanting to miss the chance at dating someone like her. While Natalie was skeptical at first (she even noted that she didn't know his last name), their romance quickly blossomed. A month later and they were celebrating her birthday together.

Natalie met Jake’s family for the first time in the Hamptons - an eventful week/weekend. She met Jake’s parents (Neal & Amanda), brother (Ethan), his girlfriend (Sarah), and a smattering of Ethan's closest friends, all in a span of about 24 hours. Jake & Natalie also took their first dock photo. Pay attention to this iconic dock - you'll see why.

For anyone who knows Jake - his sports fandom runs deep. The Ravens are Jake’s favorite team - a long-cultivated connection with his father, who is from Baltimore. Despite growing up in New York City, Jake never rooted for a single New York sports team. He likes to joke that Baltimore is in his blood, because of his father. It took exactly one trip to Baltimore to get Natalie into Ravens football, as they went on an absolutely dreary day, a 23-20 loss to the Buffalo Bills in Baltimore. Natalie remained upbeat, having a great time, and marveling at the full stadium despite 40 degree weather and freezing rain. In her own words, that would never work in Miami. Natalie & Jake celebrated his birthday with a custom made Ravens’ jersey cake — by Natalie’s very secretive cake dealer. Natalie even went the extra mile when her notorious cake deal misspelled Jake's name, as she was able to rescue the cake and correct the spelling on her own.

First cold weather trip to the Hamptons was, well, cold. Jake hates to admit it, while Natalie is not ashamed to admit that that both of them have adjusted to the warmer Miami weather. They took their 2nd dock photo - the cold weather variant of the photo you saw earlier. This would become a trend for them - iconic dock pictures in this exact spot. The weather might be cold, but their romance is getting warmer - this is the part where you're supposed to sigh and smile while reading this.

Yes, this is a public display of affection, and no, neither of them are ashamed of it. The day before Christmas too, a day that holds absolutely no meaning for Jake otherwise (if you couldn't tell already, this is a Jewish wedding).

Imagine taking a trip with your boyfriend to Colorado. You've been excited about it for months. You're ready to hit the mountain and ski in some beautiful fresh powder. You're ready to shred some gnar (whatever that means). You're a go-getter, you purchased an entire outfit. Then on the first day, on the first run, you tear your ACL approximately nine minutes in. Day done. Week done. Trip finished. How would you respond?

Natalie responded pretty well! Got her surgery two days after tearing her ACL, and was drinking wine with Jake a couple of nights later. There's no one on Earth with a higher pain tolerance or a greater appreciation for Riesling, Jake can guarantee you that. Here's Natalie with Jake's parents, a rare picture showing her using the crutches she loathed and the brace that exists only in memory at this point.

If you thought an ACL recovery was going to stop us from celebrating the Lunar New Year, you were dead wrong. Surrounded by friends, we celebrated the New Year at... an Italian restaurant in Coral Gables. What a time to be alive. If you can't spot Jake, look closer, it's not that difficult.

Pretty sure this was Valentine's Day, and we were about to indulge in quite the meal at Ariete in Coconut Grove. Despite dressing nice, Natalie and I remain goofball's at heart.

Jake's mother's birthday dinner at Sofia in the design district. A chance to dress up and show off our impeccable sense of style to his entire family.

Oh, and take at least one goofy picture. Natalie looks beautiful, as always. Jake looks... well, you pick an adjective.

One of our favorite Miami meals. Natalie's lovely parents came to visit her all the way from China. We had to set up a proper dinner with both of our parents - something that seemed daunting but absolutely necessary. You know how it goes. Boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. They date. Parents have to meet at some point, right? We had dinner at Hutong, an excellent Chinese restaurant that actually charged us a corking fee for opening a bottle of Maotai. For those of you who haven't had it - there are two opinions on it. Jake loves it. Jake's family... less so. But it remains an iconic picture of a meal bridging two families into one :)

Jake definitely had too much fun posting this picture. He thinks a lot of you probably thought he'd *gasp* eloped and gotten married. Well, you're all here at the actual thing now, so worry not! But he remembered seeing Natalie for the first time standing up there and thinking to himself, truly, that one day it was going to be us up there, and he'd be blessed enough to ask her to be his wife.

A Versace dining experience was one to remember... the first or second time Jake got to experience the fashion brilliance of Natalie's father (though Jake remains sure Natalie's mother gets the credit for handpicking outfits).

Ah yes, Jake being a goofball again with Natalie. It'll never stop.

Jake took Natalie to Anguilla, one of his favorite places in the entire world, to celebrate her birthday.

Not to be outdone, Jake's parents coordinated a bottle of Champagne to be delivered in between courses to the restaurant where we were eating. It was hand-delivered with a note wishing her a happy birthday from Jake's mother, father and brother. You'll note that it says "Mr. and Mrs. Moszkowski." Foreshadowing much?

Natalie thought Jake had forgotten her dog daughter, but Jake insists he would never. He was saving this photo for that exact moment, where we have two happy doggos, two strong drinks, and some good summer weather in the Hamptons.

A picture celebrating the impending marriage of another Moszkowski! (Still not Jake yet, hold your horses, we're getting there). Not pictured: Neal (Jake's father, cropped out), Guy (Jake's uncle, cropped out) or Sandra (Jake's aunt, cropped out). Still cute though.

At the time of this picture, we looked like we were at a wedding in Scotland (it was actually Connecticut). Natalie didn't know this, but a few days before this picture was taken, Jake had received the custom-designed engagement ring for her. Jake really doesn't like keeping secrets from her, but he had to keep the design a secret (for now).

Jake took Natalie to a special, post-Thanksgiving lunch. In the morning, he told her to dress nicely (you know nice restaurant, potential proposal that she doesn't know about but he can't say anything about but he wants her to be dressed nicely so she doesn't yell at him for being in sweatpants).

Her response? "Babe, I'm always dressed nicely." You're not wrong, but Jake is trying to avoid getting yelled at later!

Remember how we said the dock photos were important to us?

You can start to see how important. "But why didn't you propose on the dock?" If she dropped the ring and it fell into the muddy, gross, freezing water underneath the dock, Jake probably would've had a heart attack. Solid ground is better.

She thought he was going to propose in Argentina, surrounded by family on a winter trip. He actually may have led her to believe that, all while planning a sleight-of-hand Hamptons winter proposal. When he got down on one knee, she actually asked Jake if he was joking. He's really glad she said yes.

They are now excited to get married.

And he loves her all the way to the moon and back :)
